Jon Albrink is a New York City based singer/songwriter and guitarist. His two CDs of original songs, Shimmer and Thrum and Private Moon, have garnered praise for their haunting melodies and arrangements, as well as his beautiful, soulful,
and intelligent lyrics.
Jon has performed with Suzanne Vega at the Library of Congress as part of a program commemorating the events of September 11, 2001. His song "The Beauty of the Day" appears on the "Vigil" album along with songs by Richard Julian, Suzanne Vega and Jack Hardy, with all proceeds being donated to a special survivors' fund.
Jon has played bass professionally for many years with a wide variety of jazz and pop artists, including Buddy Rich, Milt Jackson and saxophonist Bill Evans. He has performed his own songs in New York City at The Bitter End, The Rockwood Music Hall, The Living Room and The Cornelia Street Cafe. He also plays guitar and sings in Amanda Homi's
"Drumgirl" band.
