Bear Machine was first formed in 2011 as a label for Ben Cooper to self-release some of his new material. And for 6 years, it remained that way. In 2017, Ben partnered with Josh Lee and Rachel Cragg to expand it into a full-blown music production company. So after a couple years of planning, legal work, and too many meetings, we are finally live!
We have a lot on our plates for the first year. Bear Machine is as much a production company as a record label. What do we mean by that? All of our releases are produced in-house. Unlike a traditional record label, that outsources most of it's content and production, we are involved in everything from the ground up. Our focus is on mood-driven instrumental music -- everything from classical rep, to soundtracks, to modern electronic music. In building our catalog, we are more concerned with mood and sound quality than particular eras or styles.
