WarnerNuzova

Warner and Nuzova performed in duo for many years before formally coming together as the WarnerNuzova duo in 2008.  Both have Russian ties. Warner earned her fame as a soloist at the Curtis Institute in Philadelphia under the baton and tutelage of Rostropovich. She took first prize in the Fourth International Rostropovich Competition in Paris in 1990, made her New York debut with the National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Rostropovich, and appeared with the NSO on a North American tour. She was the Bamberg Symphony's featured soloist on a European tour, also conducted by Rostropovich.

"He made the Prokofiev Symphonie Concertante and Shostakovich [Concerto] No. 1 fit like a glove. He challenged me to new heights. He made me go beyond what I thought were my limitations... in fact, he made me believe I had none... I felt so inspired," recalls Warner of her time on tour with Rostropovich and the Bamberg Symphony. She and her mentor also performed Vivaldi's two-cello concerto in France, among other collaborations.

Moscow-born Nuzova made her debut with the Omsk Philharmonic at the age of 14 while attending the Gnessin Academy of Music under the guidance of Alexander Satz. She continued her musical education at the Manhattan School of Music and Juilliard and earned her Doctorate of Musical Arts degree from the Hartt School of Music (University of Hartford, Connecticut).
