Ali Ollie Woodson

Ali-Ollie Woodson (born September 12, 1951 in Detroit, Michigan) is an American R&B singer, songwriter, and keyboardist. Recognized as one of the most distinguished voices in the music world today, Ali Woodson continues, consistently to enrapture audiences with his sparkling voice. Formerly the lead singer of the legendary TEMPTATIONS, his intoxicating delivery of "Treat her like a Lady", which he wrote, continues to be a Pop and R&B favorite all over the world. Ali is now singing with "The Temptations Review featuring Dennis Edwards".

He is most notable for being lead singer of Motown act The Temptations from 1984 to 1986, and from 1988 to 1996. While in the group, he co-wrote, co-produced, and sings lead on the 1984 Temptations single "Treat Her Like a Lady", which was a #2 hit on the U.S. R&B charts.

Since leaving the group, Woodson began a solo career, and often toured with a Temptations-like revue called Ali-Ollie Woodson & the Emperors of Soul (Emperors of Soul being the name of the Tempts' 1994 box set). Even though he is no longer a member of the Temptations, he toured with the group in Japan in 2002 while group member Barrington "Bo" Henderson was unable to accompany the group due to visa problems. His last Temptations album was 1995's For Lovers Only. In 2006, he joined The Temptations Revue featuring Dennis Edwards, although Woodson and Edwards were never groupmates at the same time in The Temptations. He also has a son named Ali Woodson, Jr.
