A Monumental June for Adam Gyorgy

Bookmark and Share

June has been quite the month for Crossover Media artist Adam Gyorgy. On June 14th the pianist's latest record Adam Gyorgy Plays Liszt, Bach and Mozart became a Gold record, while on June 12th the virtuoso was honored to perform at the Euro 2012 opening ceremony.

Although the Hungary-born artist's new work features classical works from Liszt, Bach, and Mozart, Gyorgy was able to delight his Polish fans with pieces from Poland's most revered classical artist Frederic Chopin. Gyorgy's performance of Chopin transitioned into a specially-composed arrangement by Italian producer-DJ Karmatronic. This somewhat surprising and unexpected turn in the music was an interesting way to bridge the gap between classical music and dance music of today.

Already regarded as one of the world's finest pianists, with recognition by the Steinway community, Adam Gyorgy's newest album Adam Gyorgy Plays Liszt, Bach and Mozart continues to prove his agility and adeptness as a musician. Kathy Parsons has written "One of the aspects of Gyorgy's playing that stood out to me immediately is the remarkable clarity of his performance. In the many lightning-fast passages, each note is clear and pristine. He also honors the performance traditions of the eras when the music was created. In his Bach and Mozart performances, he uses little or no pedal and there isn't a huge dynamic range, while in his arrangements of later music, he pulls out all of the stops and takes full advantage of the modern piano's more expressive capabilities." Gyorgy's performance at the Euro 2012 opening ceremony proves that his skill and proficiency in clarity and range it not just on his recordings, but is apparent in his live performances as well.
