Yo-Yo Ma, internationally renowned cellist, will join members of the Warren Philharmonic Orchestra and the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra for a free concert at the Warren Community Amphitheatre Aug. 13. The 19 time Grammy Award winner, begins a new journey, setting out to perform Johann Sebastian Bach's six suites for solo cello in one sitting in 36 locations around the world. Each concert is an example of culture's power to create moments of shared understanding, as well as an invitation to a larger conversation about culture, society, and the themes that connect us all.

The concert will be followed by a panel discussion, "How Can the Arts - and All of Culture - Serve Our Community?" moderated by Deborah F. Rutter, president of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. Panelists will include William Mullane, an educator who is on the board of directors for the Fine Arts Council of Trumbull County, the Rev. Lewis Macklin II, pastor of Holy Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, and Barb Ewing, CEO of the Youngstown Business Incubator.
