Cécile McLorin Salvant talks to Moneyish about the power of subversion, the limited utility of the golden gramophone trophy and the optimism of being a young black woman. At just 28, the Miami native already has one Grammy under her belt: the 2016 golden gramophone for best jazz vocal album. She's a favorite for a repeat award next year thanks to her fourth EP "Dreams and Daggers," which Pitchfork lauded for its "gravitas, humor, and modernity."
