The Hot Sardines performed to a sell-out crowd at Salisbury Playhouse last night (Monday) - delivering a lively and vibrant evening of jazz. You couldn't help but tap your feet to the amazing music with the fabulous vocals of frontwoman 'Miz Elizabeth' Bougerol. This was the first time the band, who hail from the US, have performed in the city and I hope they will return again soon. As a complete newcomer to jazz, The Hot Sardines were a perfect introduction to dip my toe into the world of jazz.

You couldn't help but admire the expertise of Jason Prover (trumpet), Michael Sailors (cornet and trombone) and Nick Myers (reeds) as they held those phenomenal notes. Not to be forgotten is the fabulous skills of Evan 'Bibs' Palazzo on the piano, Evan 'Sugar' Crane on bass and a sousaphone (that was picked up from a car park), and Alex Raderman on drums.
