Regardless of the format, Angele Dubeau's streaming #'s are formidable / Montreal Gazette

There was no text, but the subject line was not hard to deconstruct. Angèle Dubeau, 53, is a classically trained violinist, the marquee artist of the Analekta label, leader of the string ensemble La Pietà, and familiar to her fellow Montrealers from television commercials and posters in the métro.

Ludovico Einaudi, 59, is an Italian composer, also classically trained - at least to some degree, at the Milan Conservatory under Luciano Berio - and known to Europeans through his many film scores and soft-focus piano statements (sometimes with synthesizers and/or orchestra).

As for one million streams for the album Ludovico Einaudi: Portrait, this is quite a few.

"It is fantastic," said François Mario Labbé, founder and president of the Analekta label, and husband to Dubeau, in his office in Montreal. "Angèle is close to 12,600,000 streams, since the beginning of streaming, in all her albums.
