Secret Garden releases their 12th studio album: 'Songs in the Circle of Time' / New Age Music Guide

New Age Music Guide's BT Fasmer writes…..Songs in the Circle of Time is an enchanting blend of dreamy melodies and powerful arrangements, transporting listeners to a world of beauty and timeless elegance.

Rolf explains: “We chose this title because we feel it’s descriptive of our music. The sources of inspiration are many and feel timeless, from 17th century baroque – classical music and contemporary – hopefully melting into our own style” Fionnuala adds: “In many ways it’s a classic Secret Garden album with mostly instrumental music, but also a couple of vocal songs”

This album is recorded in two parts. “We started with our band recording 6 songs in June of last year and produced the second part of 7 songs with piano and orchestra during the winter – all music featuring Fionnuala on violin. We also had the joy of recording with some traditional players from Ireland and Norway, Maírtín O’Connor (accordion) and Robbie Harries (bodhrán) from Ireland and Annbjørg Lien (Hardanger Fiddle) and Hans Fredrik Jacobsen (whistles) from Norway.” There are also two new vocal tracks on the album. One duet performed by Espen Grjotheim and Cathrine Iversen – an Italian inspired love song called ‘’Timelessly in love’’, and the song ‘’Lullaby for Grown-Ups’’ featuring Espen Grjotheim.

The recording process of the album is documented by a self-produced video with a couple of cameras rolling in the studios. The videos and documentary will be available on Secret Gardens official YouTube and video channels.

Songs in the Circle of Time is written and produced by Rolf Løvland and co-produced by Fionnuala Sherry for Dreamcatcher Productions and distributed and marketed by Universal Music. The new album is now released in Dolby Atmos, and Secret Gardens 2019 album Storyteller is also now available in Dolby Atmos – mixed by Roald Råsberg in Sanden Studio.
