The award-winning animated documentary Oscar, detailing the life of famed Montreal jazz pianist Oscar Peterson, now can be viewed on the National Film Board of Canada's website. Marie-Josée Saint-Pierre's 12-minute film combines archival footage and animated clips of Peterson's journey from his beginnings in Little Burgundy to his international success.  The film will also be screened Friday afternoon when the Oscar Peterson Award is presented at the Montreal Jazz Festival to saxophonist and composer Christine Jensen, with Peterson's daughter, Céline, in attendance. The French version of Oscar will be broadcast on the Télé-Québec TV network and streamed in Télé-Québec's Zone vidéo. The film won an Audience Choice Award at the New York City Short Film Festival, the Animation Award at the Yorkton Film Festival in Saskatchewan and was nominated for Best Animated Short Film at the 2016 Gala du cinéma québecois.
