Under the watchful eye of artistic director Chris Collins, the 35th annual Detroit Jazz Festival has lined up its best group of musicians in years. The festival bills itself as the largest, free outdoor jazz event in the world. There are 100 musical acts this year over the Labour Day weekend, Aug. 29-Sept. 1, at two locations in downtown Detroit - Hart Plaza and Campus Martius. Headed by Joshua Redman, 2014's artist-in-residence, the opening concert on Friday, Aug. 29, at 7 p.m. on the Main Stage on Hart Plaza features an intriguing combo of Redman and The Bad Plus.  READ THE FULL Windsor Star ARTICLE
