Brian Fennell is a student of simplicity. As SYML (pronounced "simmel"), which translates to "simple" in Welsh, Fennell writes emotive songs that capture the ethos of his musical persona. Ultimately his songs are a kind and truthful depiction of emotion grounded by his gut-wrenching vocal delivery. His eponymous self titled debut album (SYML) will release May 3, 2019 and is mixed by Grammy award winning engineer Joe Visciano (Beck, Adele), SYML by SYML is 12 tracks of transcendent and emotional dream-pop, synth-rock, and cathartic, uplifting emotion. Additional album standouts including "Bed," "Girl" and "Connor" touch upon reflections on fatherhood, family and overcoming hardship. The album also includes breakout single, "Where's My Love," which has over 300 million combined streams and over 20 placements and is Certified Platinum in Canada and Gold in the Netherlands, Ireland and Belgium.

Here he is in the attached video performing "The BIrd" live at Provenance in Philadelphia, PA from March 4, 2019. Documented by  Out of Town Films.
