Piano Guys 'Christmas Together' concert rocks Salt Lake City's - Vivint Arena / Daily Herald

If you ever told me that a time would come when I would be jamming out at an arena show featuring a piano and a cello with over 10,000 equally enthusiastic concert attendees, I'd probably tell you that you were crazy. Especially since the nearly packed house Friday night at The Piano Guys concert brought the attendance number closer to 20,000 at the newly renovated Vivint Smart Home Arena in Salt Lake City.

I've never particularly considered myself a big fan of classical music, but The Piano Guys, founded in 2010 and featuring the musical stylings of pianist Jon Schmidt and cellist Steven Sharp Nelson with help from producer and videographer Paul Anderson and producer, songwriter and vocalist Al van der Beek, quickly taught me that was simply because I hadn't heard the right kind of classical music, and more specifically, their unique brand of classical crossover, mixed with cello rock and orchestral pop.
