Michigan's Gilmore Festival presents Murray Perahia in Piano Masters Series

The Gilmore International Keyboard Festival will present internationally renowned pianist Murray Perahia in its Piano Masters Series on March 18. Perahia will perform a program of Bach, Haydn, Beethoven, Franck and Chopin at 8 p.m. at Chenery Auditorium. He is performing the same program he will present at Chicago's Orchestra Hall the following week and at Carnegie Hall in New York on April 1.

Perahia has performed in the music capitals of the world for more than 40 years with orchestras, as a soloist and as a conductor. His long and varied career has included a win at the Leeds Competition, numerous Grammy and Gramophone awards and an appointment as Principal Guest Conductor of Academy of St. Martin in the Fields. He was a guest lecturer at the University of Cambridge in January of this year.

This is Perahia's third appearance in Kalamazoo. He performed at Chenery Auditorium in 2009 and as part of the Gilmore Festival in 2002.  READ THE FULL Michigan Live ARTICLE
