'Paris' pays musical tribute to the city that Hilary Hahn so adores / ABC - Australia

ABC - Australia writes.....Paris is a city of chance meetings between artists, of fleeting inspiration and sumptuous premieres.

"Paris," says Hilary Hahn, "is about expression, it's about emotion, it's about feeling connected to a city and a cultural intersection, in a way that's inspiring for the player and the listener. It has Parisian threads all the way through it. But it's also a big reference to the arc of my career. I've been playing in Paris since I was a teenager." This album pays musical tribute to the city that Hahn so adores, featuring Parisian-born Chausson's Poème for Violin and Orchestra alongside two works premiered in the city. One of them, Rautavaara's final work Deux Sérénades, was written for Hahn, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France and its musical director Mikko Franck.
