Yanni's 2 sold out 'Live At El Morro, Puerto Rico' shows marked the first ever performances at the historic UNESCO heritage site

Sony Masterworks is proud to announce the release of YANNI: LIVE AT EL MORRO, PUERTO RICO. The CD and DVD are captured from Yanni's two sold-out shows, which marked the first ever performances at the historic UNESCO heritage site. Yanni is music's true world citizen and one of today's most popular contemporary composers.

Yanni's 20-year-old dream to perform at the beautiful 16th-century Castillo San Felipe Del Morro in San Juan, Puerto Rico, became a reality last December when he performed and filmed two sold-out concerts in HD and 5.1 Dolby Digital surround sound for international and U.S. broadcast on PBS. The performance at El Morro connects the famed Puerto Rican landmark with other spectacular sites such as the Taj Mahal in India, the Acropolis in Greece and the Forbidden City in China, that have played host to Yanni's world-renowned performances.

Repertoire for the CD and DVD features Yanni and his well-known orchestra performing majestic and breathtaking audience favorites including "Truth of Touch," "Voyage" and "Vertigo" from Yanni's latest studio album, Truth of Touch, released last year. In addition, the CD and DVD features a brand new version of Yanni's hallmark song "Nightingale" along with other classics which have not been recorded in decades, such as "The End of August," "The Rain Must Fall," "Felitsa," "Ode To Humanity" plus two encores: "Niki Nana" and "One Man's Dream."

"It is our great pleasure to welcome Yanni back to the Sony Music family", said Bogdan Roscic, President of the Sony Masterworks group of labels. "The shows at El Morro deserve a special place among his recordings which have sold a combined 35 million albums around the world. Anyone who has been entertained by one of his concerts will love these spectacular performances."

YANNI: LIVE AT EL MORRO, PUERTO RICO makes its television debut March 3rd on PBS stations across the United States, marking the composer's tenth collaboration with PBS.

"El Morro lived up to its reputation," said Yanni. "The concerts were magical, even if the weather became part of the show. The audiences both nights were truly among the best I have ever played for."

The April 17th release of YANNI: LIVE AT EL MORRO, PUERTO RICO also heralds Yanni's kick off date for a major two-year World Tour. The first leg of the tour starts in West Palm Beach and will take him across the U.S. and Canada. A South American tour will follow in the fall, and a multi-city tour of China is set for 2013.

2011 saw Yanni selling out major concert venues around the world including Eastern Europe, Asia and the Middle East, where his latest album, Truth of Touch, is now platinum.

Yanni has sold more than 35 million albums globally with over 40 gold and platinum album awards and has a fan base like no other. His music is joyous and written to be positive and life-affirming. "I want my music to remind people of their potential for greatness," he says. "I want to inspire as well as to entertain."
