The Havana Lyceum Orchestra, in their first-ever American tour, will be performing in New York and in other cities. On stage with them is Brooklyn native and acclaimed Simone Dinnerstein, who stops by BRIC TV to tell us what's behind this cross-cultural saga. Dinnerstein's new Sony Classical album, Mozart in Havana, recorded in Cuba, may be her most ambitious to date and is a testament to music's ability to cross all cultural and language barriers, and the pianist and Orchestra perform Mozart's Piano Concerto Nos. 21 and 23. The tour marks the first time an orchestra of this size has traveled to the U.S. from Cuba since the revolution.

BRIC TV is the first 24/7 television channel created by, for, and about Brooklyn. It is the borough's source for local news, Brooklyn culture, civic affairs, music, arts, sports, and technology. BRIC TV features programming produced and curated by BRIC, an arts and media nonprofit located in Downtown Brooklyn, NYC. Watch the attached BRIC TV video
