Mirga Grazinyte-Tyla takes the podium conducting Mozart and Mahler in '90.1WRTI: Philadelphia Orchestra in Concert' broadcast

Mirga Grazinytė-Tyla is a fast-rising star in the classical music world, and she's on the podium conducting Mozart and Mahler in this Philadelphia Orchestra in Concert re-broadcast. Listen on Thursday, April 16 at 7 PM on WRTI: Philadelphia HD-2 and Friday, April 17 at 1 PM on WRTI 90.1.

Mirga was recently appointed music director of one of the UK's major orchestras: the City of Birmingham Symphony. She's joined in her own Philadelphia Orchestra debut by the pianist who made his Orchestra debut 72 years ago, Menahem Pressler, in Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 23. Following in the footsteps of Simon Rattle, Sakari Oramo, and Andris Nelsons at Birmingham, Ms. Grazinytė-Tyla has electrified audiences all over the world.

During intermission, WRTI's Susan Lewis will have a backstage conversation with Maestra Grazinytė-Tyla. It's hard to top Mozart and Mahler, so I hope you'll join WRTI for this Philadelphia Orchestra re-broadcast!
