Nick Kendall, violin, Zach De Pue, violin, and Ranaan Meyer, double bass, met while students at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. They formed Time for Three (or Tf3) some 14 years ago and, since then, have forged a reputation for crossing many, many musical boundaries.

Although classically-trained, the string trio performs music "from Bach and Brahms to their own arrangements of The Beatles, Katy Perry, Kanye West and Justin Timberlake, they have performed everywhere from Carnegie Hall to jazz clubs, European festivals, NFL games and the Indy 500" to quote their website.

In Houston to perform Travels in Time for Three, a work written for them by Chris Brubeck (son of jazz great Dave), with the Texas Music Festival Orchestra, Nick, Zach and Ranaan, stopped by the Geary Studio to talk with Houston Public Media's St.John Flynn and play a couple of pieces from their new, self-titled album.
