We're all familiar with the sound of a pianist playing a piano. But it's less often that we hear TWO pianists playing a piano. And that's exactly what you see and hear with the ZOFO duet. Since joining forces in 2009, pianists Eva-Maria Zimmermann and Keisuke Nakagoshi – ZOFO - have electrified audiences from Carnegie Hall to Tokyo Japan with their dazzling artistry and outside-the-box thematic programming for piano-four-hands.  This GRAMMY- nominated, prize-winning Steinway Artist Ensemble – one of only a handful of duos worldwide devoted exclusively to piano duets – is blazing a bold new path for piano-four-hands groups by focusing on 20th and 21st century repertoire and by commissioning new works from noted composers each year.

ZOFO takes part in the 9th annual Switchboard Music Festival at Brava Theater in San Francisco on Saturday, June 18. Their performance begins at 2:30 in the afternoon. Switchboard is an 8-hour showcase of innovative and eclectic music from the Bay Area and beyond that traverses genre lines, presenting a feast for musical omnivores of all kinds. In addition to Zofo, featured performers include Tyondai Braxton (Battles), Del Sol String Quartet, Ken Ueno, and the San Francisco Girls Chorus.
