The National to join Cincinnati Symphony for MusicNOW / Cincinnati.com

The MusicNOW Festival will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a five-day festival, which will include the debut of - The National with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra in Music Hall.

MusicNOW was founded in 2006 by Cincinnati-born Bryce Dessner of The National with the mission to present contemporary music, commission new works and offer artists an opportunity to take risks. In the last decade, MusicNOW has evolved from its indie-rock roots to include some of the biggest names in new music, including the Kronos Quartet, Philip Glass, Steve Reich and the new music sextet eighth blackbird. Earlier this year Dessner released his 'St. Carolyn by the Sea' CD on Deutsche Grammophon.
