Tennessee Tech alum; Craig Terry wins GRAMMY for his work on Joyce DiDonato's 'Songplay' / Herald Citizen

A musical journey that began with "wonderful music teachers and mentors"  has now resulted in a Grammy Award for a Tennessee Tech alumnus. Craig Terry, who received his Bachelor of Music degree in 1996, won a Grammy  for his collaboration on Joyce DiDonato's "Songplay," which won for Best Classical Solo Vocal Album. 

"I was completely shocked," he said about his reaction to the news. "The adrenaline, excitement, and joy were like nothing I had ever experienced. I've always been a dreamer.  But in a practical sense, both the nomination and award were a complete surprise and a dream come true. " Terry was raised in Tullahoma and attended Tennessee Tech on a full scholarship.
