Eldar spends time bridging the gap between jazz and other forms of music. The Bridge Jazz Festival, which bridges the cities of Albany and Troy in the presentation of national jazz acts, is the pianist's next stop. His trio will play Friday night at Troy Savings Bank Music Hall. The show will consist of songs picked from his previous albums, such as "Virtue," "Breakthrough" and his latest, "World Tour Vol. 1," as well as new material. A native of the Soviet Union, Eldar arrived in the U.S. at the age of 10 and began getting noticed for his massive technique. At age 17, Sony Masterworks signed him to a multi-record contract. Now 30, Eldar's career trajectory is less hectic. He steadily goes about trying to perfect his craft, compose music and ensure his concerts make an impact on people.
