GIANCARLO GUERRERO is a miraculous conductor. A six-time GRAMMY Award-winning conductor, Music Director of theNashville Symphony and NFM Wroclaw Philharmonic and Principal Guest Conductor of the Gulbenkian Orchestra in Lisbon, Maestro Guerrero possesses naturally what I can only call unique elan. What does this mean. For me, his attention to every phrase, how he shapes line, his organic inner sense, and rhythmic drive are special and joyful. This great and complete musician brings his life experience to his music making, which make his performances unforgettable.

In addition to his wonderfully fresh recreation of standard repertoire, one particular happiness is his championing of so many of our contemporary composers in brilliant recordings that have garnered worldwide attention for their clarity and brilliance. He is truly the Koussevitsky of our time.

Giancarlo Guerrero spoke to me on my program INTERPLAY,

Conversations in Music, about his influences and where he is going. A program not to be missed!
