Time for Three's self-titled album / The New York Times: Artsbeat review

There's a bit of everything on this self-titled album by the string trio made up of the violinists Zachary De Pue and Nicolas Kendall and the double-bassist Ranaan Meyer, but what stays with you is the sense of fun and deep love for music of all stripes. There's the toe-tapping "Banjo Love," followed by an arrangement of Bach's solo-violin Chaconne. "Norwegian Wood" starts out sounding like Schubert before slithering into a sort of joint jam session of Janacek and the Beatles. The cellist Alisa Weilerstein joins in for Rachmaninoff's "Vocalise," in which the other three sound uncannily like an accordion. -Fonseca-Wollheim
