Andras Schiff returns to Davies Hall, with his keen mix of sensitivity and brawn / The Mercury News

Pianist András Schiff, who brings a keen mix of sensitivity and brawn to a wide range of piano repertoire, returns to Davies Symphony Hall this weekend with two programs featuring mature works by Brahms. The first, on Sunday, puts the spotlight on the composer's Eight Piano Pieces and Seven Fantasies. In the second program, on Tuesday, Schiff plays Brahms' Three Intermezzi and selections from the composer's Klavierstücke.  Filling out this Brahms intensive are works by Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Schumann and Mendelssohn.
