Bela Fleck brings his banjo concerto The Imposter to the Brevard Music Center June 28  in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina. Backed by the Brevard Festival Orchestra under the direction of conductor Keith Lockhart. The 7:30 p.m. concert at Whittington-Pfohl Auditorium is part of a growing collaboration between Brevard Music Center CEO Mark Weinstein and Mountain Song Productions principles Woody Platt (Steep Canyon Rangers) and John Felty. The night will include a performance with wife Abigail Washburn "The thing about the title, I spend a lot of time playing music where the banjo is not typically part of the music and a lot of times I think someone is going to say, what are you doing here?" Fleck says. "If they are classical, jazz, African, whatever, the classical is the ultimate situation to feel uncomfortable."
