Lang Lang: All Children Should Enjoy Possible Best Start in Life / Women Of China

Lang Lang, the famous classical pianist, has spoken out in support of providing good care for children during the earliest stages of their development, at an event organized by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Beijing, at Renmin University on June 14. The musician attended the event in his role as a UN Messenger of Peace, and expressed his hope that all children could enjoy the best start in life. He appealed that the earliest needs of kids should be thought of as a matter of priority in the global development agenda.

To increase public awareness of the issue, Lang spent one day visiting the children of a kindergarten in the capital and participated in the shooting of a public welfare information film. This was an effective way to guide children, parents and teachers, he said.
