The Cleveland Orchestra announced that composer John Williams will conduct the orchestra on Sunday, April 8, 2018 in a program that will include music from his celebrated film scores. Williams has written some of the most beloved scores in the movies, including "Star Wars," "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial," "Schindler's List," "Superman" and the Harry Potter and Indiana Jones films. The 7 p.m. program at Severance Hall will mark the first time Williams has conducted the Cleveland Orchestra at its iconic home base. He has over the years conducted the orchestra several times at Blossom Music Festival, starting with his first appearance in 1983.
