The New American Art Song

GPR Records is proud to present Bass-Baritone Daniel Okulitch's First Solo Album, The New American Art Song. songs by Jake Heggie, Ricky Ian Gordon, Lowell Lieberman & Glen Roven. Released in conjunction with his sold out concert at Carnegie Hall. In addition to singing contemporary art songs by these four prominent American Composers, GPR was able to have all the composers at the studio to accompany Mr. Okulitch. Daniel Okulitch first came to national attention on Broadway as Schaunard in Baz Luhrmann's production of La Boheme in 2002-03. Subsequently, Okulitch has been in constant demand all over the world. Recent career highlights include singing the title role in the world premiere of The Flyat the Opera du Chatelet in Paris in a co-production with the LA Opera, re-opening the New York City Opera starring as Don Giovanni, creating the role of Willy Wonka in the World Premiere of The Golden Ticket with Opera Theater of St. Louis and Figaro at the LA Opera.
