Jos Slovick: Bio

Jos Slovick has performed in many West End shows including the original London productions of Emma Rice's Brief Encounter (as Stanley), Spring Awakening (as Georg), Soho Cinders (as Robbie), and Once the Musical (as Andrej).

Other theatre credits include: Motel in Fiddler on the Roof (Chichester Festival Theatre), Young Buddy in Follies in Concert (Royal Albert Hall), Kai in The Snow Queen (Nuffield Theatre), Dickon in The Secret Garden (International Tour), Homer in The Human Comedy (Young Vic, Watford Palace), Matt/ Cover Oliver Barrett IV in Love Story (Chichester Festival Theatre), Konrad in The Natives (Old Vic) and Jonah in Bad Jews (Bath Theatre Royal and Theatre Royal Haymarket).

Jos also appeared as Bossuet in the 2012 film Les Misérables, Howards End (2017), and 1917 (2019). Slovick also performed the classic cover; "I Am a Poor Wayfaring Stranger" before the climactic battle scene. The song is featured in one of the film's trailers and people have created a petition for its official release.

Sony Music announces the special release of "I Am a Poor Wayfaring Stranger" from Sam Mendes' critically acclaimed film 1917.  Released for the first time ever, the 3-track EP includes an a capella version of the track as originally performed in the film by actor Jos Slovick and arranged by Craig Leon, plus two newly recorded versions by Slovick of the classic American folk ballad 

Of the release, actor and singer JOS SLOVICK says, "1917 is an incredible film to be part of.  It felt like a special moment when we filmed that scene, and I'm so pleased it's resonating with people. Recording the song at Abbey Road Studios was a dream come true."
