For both movie and music lovers, few things compare to the annual John Williams Film Night at Tanglewood on Aug. 19. The 85 year-Williams is Hollywood's most honored composer with five Oscars, 22 Grammys and the American Film Institute Lifetime Achievement Award. One of the most sought-after composers in Hollywood, Williams has been tapped to score the upcoming "Star Wars: Episode 8 - The Last Jedi." He has scored the previous seven episodes. In addition to the "Star Wars" movies, Williams big screen accomplishments include  "Schindler's List," "Jaws," "Close Encounters of the Third Kind," "Superman" and "Raiders of the Lost Ark."

Williams, the Boston Pops conductor laureate, will lead half of the evening's entertainment at Tanglewood on Aug. 19 with Boston Symphony Orchestra Music Director Andris Nelsons conducting the other half. The concert will include selections from such Williams' efforts as the Harry Potter series, " E.T. The Extraterrestrial" and "Far and Away." Also on the program will be music from Williams' score to Steven Spielberg's "Lincoln" with a special guest trumpet soloist. Compositions from such Hollywood heavyweights as Alex North, Erich Korngold and Bernard Herrmann are also on tap. Tickets for the Koussevitzky Music Shed are sold-out. However, lawn seats are available.     PHOTO:  Hilary Scott
