Bach Cello Suites

Luigi Piovano - principal cellist of the Symphony Orchestra of National Academy of St. Cecilia and guest principal cellist of the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, released Johann Sebastian Bach's Six Suites for Unaccompanied Cello, BWV 1007-1012 for the French label ELOQUENTIA (EL 1021), as a 2-disc audio CD set. Piovano, who regularly collaborates in duo setting with Antonio Pappano and has appeared as soloist under the batons of such conductors as Mikhail Pletnev, Yehudi Menuhin and Myung-Whun Chung, has been welcomed to the ranks of today's internationally recognized cellists after his involvement in the "Pollini" project that brought him to the stages of the Salzburg Festival, Carnegie Hall, National Academy of Santa Celilia and Tokyo.
