BBC - Frozen Planet II

The 2-CD physical soundtrack to the natural history landmark sequel Frozen Planet II will be released on Jan 27, 2023 in the US. Frozen Planet II premieres Saturday, January 28th at 8pm ET/7pm C on BBC America and AMC+.

The Emmy and BAFTA nominated Bleeding Fingers Music team, headed by Hans Zimmer, deliver an ethereal and powerful soundtrack featuring the vocals of AURORA and backed by the Reykjavík Recording Choir and the BBC National Orchestra of Wales. The 3-note leitmotif from the opening theme is slowly varied and carried by the waves of shifting harmonies supported by crystalline strings, metallic percussion, and contemplative brass. On the second album the sound becomes more defined with the themes establishing themselves whilst the swirling and pulsating orchestral sound intermittently supports and drowns them.

Titanic: Collector's Anniversary Edition

Sony Classical announces the soundtrack releases of TITANIC: Anniversary Edition and TITANIC: Collector's Anniversary Edition. The releases will coincide with the newly re-mastered re-release of TITANIC, the world's most beloved and acclaimed film. The theatrical re-release marks the 100th anniversary of the Titanic setting sail, and in commemoration of these events, Sony Classical releases two newly remastered versions of the original TITANIC soundtrack with extensive bonus material. Both feature an unreleased disc of period music recorded for the movie by I Salonisti, plus 4 bonus vintage Titanic luggage stickers. I Salonisti is the 5-piece quintet that appears in the film. Director James Cameron painstakingly researched the music that was played on the ship and hired them to record authentic music from the period specifically, the music that all bands from the White Star Line would have been required to perform when hired to play as employees of the prestigious cruise fleet. Arranger and music historian/advisor John Altman oversaw the process and was tasked with taking the White Star Line official playlist, arranging and recording those songs for the film. Two of the marquee songs on the disc I Salonisti: Gentlemen, It Has Been a Privilege Playing with You Tonight are "Nearer My God To Thee" which was the last song played by the band as the ship went down, and "Song of Autumn" which does not appear in the movie, but is rumored to be the actual song that the band played as the ship went down.

Professor Marston And The Wonder Women

Sony Classical proudly announces the release of Professor Marston And The Wonder Women (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack).  Featuring composer Tom Howe's original score, the soundtrack will be available digitally and on CD October 13.

Stage 6 Films' PROFESSOR MARSTON AND THE WONDER WOMEN premiered to rave reviews at the Toronto International Film Festival. On October 13, the film will be released in U.S. theaters in association with Annapurna Pictures.

"Working with Angela was fantastic," exclaims Howe. "I was lucky enough to join the project before Angela filmed anything. Early conversations with her about the characters and story arc meant I was able to write a suite which she listened to on set and this formed the main theme and palette for the Marstons. The music takes us on an emotional journey tracking the ups and downs of the Marstons story infusing a subtle twist by using unusual percussion and bondage sounds."
