Brooklyn Rider set to open Charlottesville Chamber Music Festival / The Daily Progress

This year's Charlottesville Chamber Music Festival will begin its 18th season this weekend with three performances by innovative string quartet Brooklyn Rider. Brooklyn Rider features violinist Johnny Gandelsman and Colin Jacobsen, violist Nicholas Cords and cellist Michael Nicolas. The quartet's program for Friday's season opener at the Paramount Theater will include Gabriel Faure's "Trio in D minor, Op. 120," "String Quartet No. 7" by Philip Glass and "Piano Trio in A minor" by Maurice Ravel, as well as violinist and composer Jacobsen's "BTT for String Quartet."
