With repertoire, Mathieu: Concertino for piano No. 2, Op. 13, Shostakovich: Piano Concerto No. 1, Op. 35, Mendelssohn: Concerto for piano and violin in D minor, this CD is a reunion of great performers: pianist Alain Lefevre, violinist David Lefevre, trumpeter Paul Archibald are joined by the London Mozart Players led by Matthias Bamert. Recorded in London in Winter 2009, this album will delight the connoisseurs with never and rarely recorded works. While Schumann freely referred to Felix Mendelssohn as the "Mozart of the 19th century," Goethe, who saw both young musicians perform, felt that young Felix shone even more brilliantly than his predecessor.
